CLOWNA NOSTRA is in active production
Bill Zebub has resumed production of “Clowna Nostra” which is a movie that shares similarity to “Spooked” and “Stereotypes Don’t Just Disappear into Thin Air” (both are available on “The Lost Films of Bill Zebub” DVD).
The movie was initially going to be a slapstick comedy that used the mob life as a background story, but when Bill Zebub started writing about a mob boss (played by John Giancaspro) who gave his son the ultimatum of joining the mob or living without the privileges, a great central conflict emerged. This movie could be about tradition versus the kind of brainwashing that young people suffer. Of course, both extremes are wrong, and they are presented as such.
The main intention is to make you laugh. If the movie stimulates you, then this is even better, but the movie doesn’t tell you what to think. If comedy is a social mirror, then this is a social circus-mirror.
Filming is currently taking place in Dallas. There are locations in Georgia and Florida that are also being considered. Sections have been shot in New Jersey. Stay tuned for more news.
